EU Digital Services Act (DSA)

In compliance with the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), the following information is provided to users in the European Union.

1. Average Monthly Active Recipients in the EU (Article 24(2) DSA)

Under Article 24(2) of the DSA, online platforms are required to publish information on the average monthly active recipients of their service in the European Union (AMARS).

NipponVault is a small-scale online service. Based on our traffic analysis, the average number of monthly active recipients from the European Union over the preceding six months is below 45 million. Accordingly, NipponVault does not qualify as a "Very Large Online Platform" (VLOP) under the DSA.

This figure will be reviewed and updated every twelve months as required by law.

2. Content Moderation & Illegal Content (Articles 14–17 DSA)

NipponVault operates as an information aggregator and does not host user-generated content. We do not permit or facilitate the upload of illegal content. If you encounter content on our platform that you believe is illegal, please report it via our abuse reporting channel.

We review reports in a timely manner and remove or disable access to content that is found to violate applicable law or our Terms of Service.

3. Recommendation System (Article 27(1) DSA)

NipponVault may use a basic content recommendation or related-content system. Any such system is based on:

  • Content categories and tags of the currently viewed page;
  • General browsing patterns (depersonalised, aggregate-level);
  • Selected language preference;
  • Page type and navigation context.

We do not use profiling-based recommendations that rely on sensitive personal data. Users can influence the content they see by selecting a language preference or navigating to specific categories.

4. Terms of Service Updates (Article 14(2) DSA)

We notify users of material changes to our Terms of Service by posting an update notice on the site. Continued use of the Site following any such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
